The Ash-Spec e-fan kit requires the custom fit shroud to keep the directional cfm air flow high enough to provide adequate cooling(you know, kind of like the stock setup?!). Nevertheless, tya used your fan w/o the shroud on a radiator it was not intended for. So tya is an idiot for not realizing that your e-fan setup would only provide adequate cooling if it and the shrouds were used on a Koyo radiator, and that a custom shroud could have been made to fit his radiator to keep temps down. Furthermore, the words 'my SPAL rep. gave me an e-fan that worked w/o a shroud' is a very naive and premature statement intended to diminish Ash's product. Sure, a high flow e-fan that pushes a significant amount of cfm will work w/o a shroud; but, that takes nothing away from the fact that Ash's e-fan setup works superbly if used with the matching shroud(like it's supposed to be), regardless of whether the e-fan that comes with Ash's kit pushes the cfm it claims to. For tya, it seems that ignorance is bliss in this case. It's like using Stillen intercoolers w/o the air guides and wondering why they aren't performing like they should be. Back to you Ash, your customer service has been way below par lately as you have admitted. But I feel that the personal attacks that have been going on against you are unjustified. No one attacks Russell at Z1 on a personal level, yet he and his company have screwed up about 1 million times worse than you have in the past. Criticism is acceptable, but when it gets personal that's taking it too far. Best of luck to your business; I hope it prospers like it should, considering the superior products you offer. Edward p.s. To RSR: If you have anything to say to me I suggest you keep it to yourself.
